About Arco Electric

Founded in 1963, Arco began as a residential and light commercial Electrical Contractor. We expanded into light industrial work in the early 70’s and in the mid 70’s we entered the petroleum fueling, C-store construction and maintenance sector. We are now concentrated in the fueling sector, but still remain active in the commercial sector as well.

Our employees are second to none in the petroleum, fueling, C-store sector with combined experience of over 125 years. In the Illinois, Chicago, NW Indiana, southern Michigan and southern Wisconsin areas we have built, remodeled or maintained hundreds of service stations.

Our employees adhere to the strictest safety standards demanded by the major oil companies and OSHA and we are proud to say we have never had an OSHA reportable incident. Our dedicated employees are courteous, friendly and eager to help your project or business succeed. Our employees include fully trained, professional maintenance/lighting specialists and construction electricians. Our employees are all members of the I.B.E.W. (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).

Some of our customers include:

  • Atlas Oil Company
  • BP America
  • Exxon/Mobil
  • Geosyntec Consultants
  • LFI (Location Finders International)
  • Shell Oil Company
  • Speedway/SuperAmerica
  • Texor Petroleum Company

Our customer base also includes many of the General Contractors and Tank and Pump contractors in the Chicago area that are active in the petroleum industry.

In addition to the retail fueling sector we also are heavily involved in the commercial, municipal, railroad and aviation fueling sectors.

Petroleum construction and maintenance is an extremely specialized sector of the electrical industry. Most non-petroleum contractors do not understand the inherent dangers of a sub-standard installation. Many times we have seen and repaired sub-standard installations that do not meet National Electrical and/or State Fire Marshall codes and have caused thousands of dollars in equipment damage and repair costs. Our electricians are fully trained and competent in Hazardous Location electrical installations.
